Before After
Before After The brief
An 85 m² south-east apartment in Podgorica needs summer shade without shutting every window. The family does not want dark drapes in the living room or a glossy floor that throws heat back. Cooling exists; the layout must keep airflow and not block paths to the balcony. The bedroom needs a softer rhythm than the living zone.
Solution
Two-layer linen curtains filter sun without blackout; microcement flooring reflects less heat than glossy porcelain. The sofa sits out of the afternoon sun. The bedroom uses calmer tones and fewer reflective surfaces; wardrobes sit on an internal wall so the window stays clear.
Process
Orientation and sun hours through the day produced two seating options. The line outside the afternoon beam was approved, then the palette and 3D of living room and bedroom. External brise-soleil was not proposed in this concept — only an interior response.
Result
The concept cuts summer glare without losing daylight and without a dark closed-in interior. Day and night zones get different rhythms. Status: concept, not a completed interior.
